Biography

Anthony Peckham is an award-winning screenwriter and novelist. His movie credits include Invictus, Sherlock Holmes and Don’t Say A Word. His Children of the Black Glass YA fantasy trilogy is published by Simon & Schuster.

Tony was born and raised in South Africa and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Cape Town in English and Classical History. He moved to California to attend film school at San Francisco State University and earned a M.A. in Film. He now lives in Hawaii with his family.

Tony was born and raised in South Africa and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Cape Town in English and Classical History. He moved to California to attend film school at San Francisco State University and has an M.A. in Film. After decades spent on the California coast, he now lives with his family in Hawaii.

Tony has written stories all his life. He sold his first screenplay while still in film school, which began a long and rewarding career in Hollywood.

He has multiple awards for his screenplay of Invictus.

Tony is also a waterman and grower of food.

Published by Simon & Schuster in 2023, Children of the Black Glass introduced siblings Tell and Wren and the strange, dangerous world beyond their mountain village. Winter’s Fire followed in 2025, and The Law of Solitude was published in 2026, completing the trilogy.

More novels are on the way, some YA, some adult. All have the same goal — to keep readers turning the page until they reach the end, and want more.

He says: “I was born into a culture where television was banned. Our only escape was reading books, and I read my way happily through my childhood.

I’m very grateful that I’m still doing much the same thing, except that now I’m writing some of those books too.”
